The Ullswater Way

After we finished the Thirlmere Way in September 2015, we (Ian & Cynthia, Margaret & Don) were wondering which Long Distance Walk we should next undertake.  

When it was announced that a new Way would open on 29th April 2016, the problem was solved.

Previously Ullswater had been blessed with a footpath along its eastern banks but the western side demanded either a lot of walking along a very busy road or long detours into the countryside.  Or cheating by using the steamer (not a bad option).  

Now there is The Ullswater Way to tackle.

The Victorians knew how to use creative licence to capture drama:
