BB2634 : The BOOTboys and
the Barefoot Rambler
Wednesday
7th October 2026
A
glorious blue sky. Sunshine everywhere.
The Boot Boys assemble.

MIKE:
Right, chaps. Lovely day for it.
TONY:
Lovely day? I’ve got a bloody gammy leg.
ROBERT:
You said that last week.
TONY:
Yeah, but this week it’s bloody gammy-er.
ROBIN:
Where’s Holly?

Holly
the Golden Labrador tears past them at full
speed.
|
ROBIN:
There she is. Never listens
to a word I say.
ROBERT:
She knows you’re not the boss.
ROBIN:
I am the boss.
MIKE:
She’s already gone.

Stan
the Man strides past.
STAN:
Come on, you lot. I’ve run more fells than
the rest of you put together.
TONY:
Yeah, and you’ve got the knees to prove
it.

They
climb.

MARTIN:
You know, when I was ballooning, I used
to get views like this all the time.
ROBERT:
From the ground?
MARTIN:
No. From a bloody balloon.

They
reach the woods. Suddenly, a MAN appears
running towards them. He is completely
BAREFOOT. Everyone
stops.

ROBIN:
Blimey.
TONY:
Where’s his bloody shoes?
STAN:
He doesn’t need ’em.
TONY:
Well, I bloody do.
The
barefoot runner disappears down the track.
MIKE:
I’m putting that on the GPX notes.
ROBERT:
Can you claim expenses for seeing a barefoot
runner?
MIKE:
Only if he was carrying the Treasurer.
They
continue towards the Knott, sunshine blazing
across Morecambe Bay.

MARTIN:
Beautiful, isn’t it?
TONY:
Yeah. Bloody beautiful.
Beat.

TONY:
Still hurts like buggery though.
MIKE:
Come on, BOOTboys.

Holly
races ahead.
ROBIN:
Holly! Come back!
She
doesn't.
ROBERT:
Who’s actually leading this walk?
STAN:
The dog.
Everyone
nods.
MIKE:
Fair enough. She’s probably the only one
who knows where she’s going.
